ENTRE L'ESPOIR ET LA RÉALITÉ
It all starts with the announcement of the diagnosis,
we hope that it is not so serious and reality is an open door to the unknown,
We hope not to feel guilty , but in reality, as parents, we have this feeling of responsibility ingrained in our bodies ,
We hope that we are not alone, but in the reality of everyday life we must act alone , going beyond the diagnosis; it is not easy to find where to start.
We hope that our daughter will progress quickly, as "usual" as possible , but the reality is that she needs time.
We hope to have time to make crucial decisions for its development and its future, but the administrative reality is shaking us up, it's the race to the fastest, who will have the place in IME?
We hope not to fight on a daily basis but the reality is that we are constantly on alert, everything is complex and a source of stress : will she be welcomed into a day or summer camp? can she do sport and where? ....
We hope that the future will be calmer and more serene, but the reality is that we have no distant perspective .
We hope that disability will no longer be an obstacle in 2025 , but this is not the reality; society and the government must move forward in terms of views and commitments.
Finally the reality is that our Carmen is happy and our hope is that Carmen always will be!
