Jessica

mother of Nino, 10 years old

Let's face it, everyday life has been like a storm on the high seas, with me trying to keep the family afloat but failing.

Make or break....

For me, everything broke down:

Exhausted,

The body gives out,

The couple breaks up,

We're isolated,

No more social life,

Lack of tolerance for difference,

No relay,

The frantic pace of everything,

Guilt about continuing to work,

No longer able to cope with crises, to fight for everything...

This is what feeds our daily lives, day after day...

It's true that each Valiant is different. But our difficulties are common, and I want to tell you that there is hope, that these painful battles are not over.

It's important for me to tell you to believe, to be patient and that there really is a rainbow or a ray of sunshine in the midst of these storms.

Today, Nino is 10 years old.

He's kept his mischievousness, his sense of humor and his love of relationships.
He's a great kid, and over the past year, I've been able to say that his day-to-day life has been a lot smoother. We've gone from having 10 crises a day to just one a week, and even then...

I'm happy to have been able to maintain a professional activity in order to preserve the only social life that was possible for me at the time.

As a result, Nino was used to going to the leisure center from the age of 4. We also needed a break.
Today, he goes to after-school care and the leisure center without a care in the world. Being taken in at a young age has enabled the other children to get used to him. If Nino has a fit, none of the children are scared. They all know to leave him alone, not to invade his space. In fact, they look forward to him so much that he makes everyone laugh.

All this has been made possible by

the town's services, which have a great team of animators who have never questioned his welcome

the IME, which structures and calms him,

to us, who have always challenged his daily routine and his ability to adapt.

We've always confronted him with the world... it takes energy, but I'm so proud, it's paying off, he's finding his place, making progress, being part of the “whole”.

I'm so proud that he's in a place where he was no longer expected!
